PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
The Phoenix Contact PLC is the main computer which operates as the brain of the Wastewater Plant. It is responsible for opening valves, starting and stopping equipment, feeding chemicals, and all other functions of the treatment process.
Operators are able to communicate and make changes to the PLC through the use of a SCADA
(Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition) system designed by Control Systems 21. Using the various screens, operators are able to make changes to the plant settings, monitor, and even trend its performance.
